What Your Hair Says About You

You would probably be surprised how much your hair says about you to others when they first meet you.  For both men and women, hair or a lack of it, is something both sexes instantly notice.

The colour of a person’s hair, the style, the texture, the length, and the cleanliness of it are all characteristics that people notice, and with them many make preconceptions about the personality within that.  Take a look at some of the classic stereotypes people make when looking simply at a person’s hair.

Colour

Ever heard the expression ‘blonde bimbo’?  Well it will be quite a few years before blondes lose that stereotype, if ever.  Being blonde, whether natural or not, can sometimes automatically make people believe, especially in the case of a woman, that they are dim.

Curly versus Straight

Those with curly hair can often be interpreted as being quite bubbly and full of life.  The curls are thought to represent a more wild personality.  But then that does depend on the types of curls.  For example, someone with wild, tight curls might be seen this way, while another person with gentle loose waves may appear to be more like a beach cool.

In comparison, those with ultra sleek and silky hair are often thought of as having a more serious personality.  Or if not serious, professional and perhaps glamorous, as straight glossy hair is perceived as being harder to maintain and achieve, so those who have sleek hair can be thought of as taking a lot of time over their appearance.

Length

Those with short hair can often be thought of as being quite trend cutting and keen to experiment.  Short hair on girls can look great but is often a risk as it sometimes makes girls feel less feminine, so it takes courage to feel feminine without the need for long girly hair.

Short hair styles also change quite regularly so those who go for fashionable styles are usually seen as being right on trend.

If a girl has long hair then they are often considered very girly and use their hair to promote their femininity.  Perhaps some people may view them as being unadventurous – but this again can depend on how they wear their hair.

Texture and Condition

If a person’s hair looks flat and dull, then this can often give people the impression that they are stressed and do not have the time to look after their appearance.

For those people who do suffer from dandruff – a common sign of stress – Head and Shoulders can do wonders to soothe an itchy scalp, while Pantene reviews have boasted how well Pantene products can boost lifeless hair.
